What a fantastic evening, NZ has some amazing talent. Everyone who went throughly enjoyed themselves. We are all looking forward to seeing what Nelson is putting on for next year.
South Island's premier summer musical event, Sealord Opera in the Park with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Friends, at Trafalgar Park in Nelson on February 16, start time is 7.30pm.
The line up has drawn huge interest - the details are:
Simon O'Neill - one of today's most sought-after tenors
Jonathan Lemalu - bass baritone with a commanding presence and voice
Helen Medlyn - New Zealand's favourite mezzo
Accompanied by the Vector Wellington Orchestra with conductor Marc Taddei.

Tips for people going
Arrive early, we suggest 90 minutes prior to start time. There will be pre show entertainment, food and wine available.
There will be food stalls, and a bar at the event, and we will have information about pre-booked picnic hampers on this site soon. Please take all rubbish away with you or use our recycling bins carefully.
Buy the souvenir concert programme. This memento of the concert will have information on the performers and orchestra, the musical programme being presented and a look back at past events.
Be prepared for a three hour show including intermission.
If you are booked in the East Grandstand take a cushion.
For picnickers there will be areas for low sand chairs and rugs, separate from higher outdoor chairs.
